After a strange weekend in the NFL with contract snubs (Dak Prescott turned down 30mil/year), a miraculous 50-yard run by a notoriously horrible QB (Nathan Peterman), and Antonio Brown threatening to quit all together if he can't wear his old helmet, another story has made its way into the spotlight. With all of the issues stemming from the AB helmet situation, it was thought that Leveon Bell coming forward to say he also wouldn't be playing if he couldn't wear AB's helmet was the icing on the cake to a bizaree chain of events. However, sources now say Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (former teammate of both Brown and Bell), is refusing to start in week 1 if he has to wear a helmet at all.
"I just got a new haircut. Plus, a helmet would cramp my style,"
said Roethlisberger, who's been wearing helmets throughout his entire career.
Team stylists are encouraging the 2 time super bowl champion to reconsider the holdout, as style has never been his forte. Team coaches believe Roethlisberger's statements are simply in spite of both Brown and Bell's outlandish behavior before leaving the Steelers. Whatever it is, the odds in Vegas are heavily favoring a helmet wearing Big Ben during the 2019 season.
